Butchers broom uses its roots medicinally.

It improves blood circulation in the legs by preventing blood from accumulating in the blood vessels.
It is effective for pain, obesity, leg cramps, leg swelling, varicose veins, itching, and swelling.
Butchers broom is also a laxative, diuretic and helps with bowel movements and reduces swelling.
Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised to avoid use for safety reasons as there is not enough reliable data on safety.
